Iran Deploys Artillery and Troops to Kurdish Border Region, Reigniting War Concerns

Iran has deployed artillery, heavy weaponry, and special forces from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) to the Kurdish border region in the northwest, adjacent to Iraq, targeting opposition groups such as the Kurdistan Free Life Party (PJAK). This deployment comes amid threats from Israel and the United States of new attacks on Iran. The Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) reported that relevant troops have been transferred from other provinces to several Kurdish cities, including Sanandaj and Kamyaran.
