Iran War Pushes Average US Gas Prices Under Trump Above Biden's Term

The Iran war has pushed average US gasoline prices during Trump's second term above those under Biden, a politically sensitive development ahead of the November 3 midterm elections. According to AAA, regular gasoline averaged $3.472 per gallon since Trump returned to the White House in January 2025, slightly above the $3.471 per gallon average during Biden's four-year term. As of October 26, the national average for gasoline was around $4.29 per gallon, up sharply from $3.05 per gallon a year ago, while diesel averaged about $6.35 per gallon, after hitting a record high of $6.53 per gallon in September.
