Pricing Resilience: Why Investors Should Prioritize Recoverability Over Continuity
Pricing Resilience: Why Investors Need to Value Recoverability, Not Just Continuity
Traditional equity valuation centers on the core assumption of operational continuity. However, multiple disruptive events in recent years have shown that the reliability of this assumption is declining. The speed and cost of recovery after business interruptions directly impact cash flow and valuation differentials among peers. Analysts can assess a company's recoverability by identifying key operations, mapping dependencies, evaluating interruption tolerance, and reviewing historical events, then incorporate these factors into DCF cash flow projections and relative valuation multiples.
